Brief History

Williams Associates (Southern) Ltd. was established in 1996 by Roger Draper and the first full time employee was Trevor Frankling who worked as the contracts manager. We started out doing mainly site investigations and insurance repairs. After a short period of time the company became an approved contractor for the Isle of Wight Councils Highways works and over the next few years both side of the business grew.

In 2003 Trevor left the company to work for Crownpark Builders Ltd which he together with Justin Gulliver purchased in the summer of 2005 following a management buyout. In late 2006 Crownpark Builders finalised a deal to purchase Williams Associates, because they wanted to diversify the company into the Highway and Civil Engineering sectors and saw the opportunity to enhance this work.

Over the next couple of years the companies profile has grown rapidly in this type of work and we have won numerous large to small contracts mainly for the Isle of Wight Council. We are now one of the IWC term maintenance contractors and also do the out of hours’ service for them.

We still carry out works for insurance companies, NHBC repairs under their insurance policies and private works

We are ISO9001, Chas & Safecontractor accredited, are members of Isle of Wight Building Safety Association and are registered on Constructionline.
